Walk-in bath alternative, without replacing your bath | UDOOR®

The alternative to a walk-in bath: keep the bath you have.

UDOOR® is not a walk-in bath. It is a watertight door fitted into the bath you already own, in one day, for the same low, safe step-in a walk-in bath gives you. No new unit, no demolition, and one less thing weighing on you.

Walk-in bath vs. a door in your own bath

Both solve the same problem, the high side of the bath. They differ in what happens to your bathroom, how long it takes, and what it costs.

Designed and manufactured by us, not assembled from parts

Unlike many door and frame alternatives on the market, UDOOR is our own design, made on our own production line, not a bought-in unit relabelled.

Our own design

Engineered by us specifically to fit into an existing bath, not adapted from a shower part.

Premium materials

Stainless steel fixings and medical-grade silicone seals, chosen to last, not the cheapest available part.

Independently tested

20,000 opening and closing cycles, certified by TÜV SÜD. Not a claim we make ourselves.

Backed for 10 years

A written 10-year guarantee, handed over on the day, not a verbal promise.

What a walk-in bath actually involves

A walk-in bath is a new unit with a built-in door and usually a seat. Fitting one means taking your bath out, adapting the plumbing, and making good around it. For many bathrooms that is the right call, and we will say so when it is.

But if the only problem is the high side, replacing the whole bath to fix it is the expensive route. Cutting a watertight door into the bath you already own solves the same problem for a fraction of the cost, in a day, with nothing else in the room touched.

What customers say

“The 'fitter', Csaba, worked solidly for 6 hours and left my bathroom and surrounding area spotless. The finished product is extremely neat and looks really good. If you're having difficulty getting in and out of the bath, installing a UDOOR is such a good and more economical alternative to having the whole bath replaced.” Julie · Trustpilot, December 2023 “We looked at having a dedicated shower fitted or a purpose made bath with a door. Either of these were going to cost £5k to £7k with many days of upheaval . So we are really pleased with our decision to have a U door and delighted with the product and service from U door especially Richard.” Mike Pope · Trustpilot, February 2026 Read all the reviews →

Your questions, answered plainly

Can a walk-in bath be added to my existing bath?

A traditional walk-in bath cannot, it is a replacement unit. What can be added to your existing bath is a watertight door or an open frame, which is exactly what we fit, in one day.

Is the door really watertight?

Yes. It opens inwards, so the weight of the water presses it shut, and the seal is tested by TÜV SÜD through 20,000 opening and closing cycles. It carries a 10-year written warranty.

Will it work with my bath?

In 99% of cases, yes: cast iron, steel or acrylic, straight, corner, P- and L-shaped. The free survey confirms it with no obligation, and we say so honestly if it will not.

How disruptive is the fitting?

One engineer, one day, industrial dust extraction, and the bathroom cleaned before handover. No tiles come off and no plumbing is moved.

Not sure which option fits your bathroom?

Three details and we call you back within one working day. If a walk-in bath or a shower conversion genuinely suits your situation better, we will tell you so on the call.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT 1We call you back within one working day and talk it through. 2A free survey confirms the bath is suitable. No obligation. 3Fitting day, one engineer, roughly six hours, and you pay after.
